LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

As a settler with my own history of displacement, I would like to acknowledge the land that I am on - the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. This land, covered by treaty 13, remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.

I recognize that this land has a long and complex history. I am grateful to live and work here. I’m committed to learning more about the stories, traditions, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous peoples who continue to shape this place, as well as my role and impact on the ongoing effects of colonization.
